2021 Côtes du Rhône Trilogie, Domaine Lefebvre d'Anselme

Wow this really is quite an impressive Côtes du Rhône! - this is of the serious ilk, not a simple quaffer. It really captures you and it has much to offers the senses, it also needs some air, I would suggest decanting to reveal it's best though it is also a wine that can be enjoyed immediately.

This is aromatically intense, showing spice/garrigue accented aromas of dark red berries and cherries, with smoke and attractive herbal notes gaining strength over time. Darker bitter cherry and black raspberry follow, delivering much pleasure and complexity. Super clarity and lingering florality. I would put some in the cellar, and I will

The Domaine Lefebvre d'Anselme owned and run by Louis et Béatrice and now with Son Marin, is located in Sabran and produces various wines (white, red, rosé) within the Côtes du Rhône and Vin de France appellations. We tasted a stunning, solar white full of vibrant, herbal scented fruit, full of vim and vigour; a pure Cinsault that was fresh, crisp and oh so juicy, it's lightness and brightness an addiction. Finally the tour de force was the red Côtes du Rhône Trilogie, this was something else, recalling the great wines of Chateau des Tours (Thibault Pfifferling's words), wine of a distinct character and dimension with a capacity to evolve and improve greatly. That was it, I had to have the wines!
