Xavier Braujou created the Terrasse d'Elise estate in 1998 by building up a vineyard of around ten hectares on the great terroirs of Aniane. His vines are planted with Roussanne, Marsanne, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault.
By virtue of hard work and passion, he has succeeded in putting in place all the components needed to produce incredibly authentic wines, true to their origin. All the Terrasse d'Elise vintages are produced with hand harvesting, from old vines with very small but concentrated yields of 20 to 25hl/ha. The resulting wines show exceptional finesse, elegance, texture, freshness and beautiful aromatics. The wines are all labelled IGP vin de pays de l'Hérault as all the reds with the exception of one are made from a single variety.
A domain to follow very closely...
From Old vines - Cinsault produces the lightest coloured and bodied wines in the South, it's the Ploussard of the Languedoc, people say Pinot Noir, but it is not similar and it is more fresh and juicy. This is a delicious wine, very pure, elegant raspberry and cherry flavours - again it's winsome and very pleasurable with deep saturated flavours but light textured. Very attractive drinking and very delicious!
